Slow Cooker Loaded Baked Potatoes

September is finally here and we’re looking forward to a little relief from the sweltering summer temperatures. The kids are back at school, the swimsuits are being packed away, and football is back. The seasons are changing and so is our routine.

Here at Hamilton Beach® we use our slow cookers year-round, but if yours has been a little neglected, the fall is a good time to plug it back in. With cooler temps come cravings for soups and stews, and with football on TV comes gameday appetizers and snacks. Your slow cooker is the perfect tool for cooking all of the above.

These potatoes aren’t baked in the oven, but rather the slow cooker. Whether you need a warm side to serve alongside pot roast or need go-to game day food for football season, have this recipe waiting on the sideline.

Slow Cooker Loaded Baked Potatoes

Rub potatoes with olive oil and pierce with a fork, then place them in the slow cooker crock. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours or on LOW for 7 to 8 hours.

Once the potatoes are cooked, slice them down the middle and let your guests top them with the works. Cheese, chives, sour cream, chili, bacon bits, butter, broccoli – a combination or any (or better yet, all) of these would be tasty. Set up a topping bar for your football-frenzied guests and let them have it at. No matter what the scoreboard says, these loaded baked potatoes are a surefire gameday win.

  1. I just purchased your “easy reach” toaster oven. Model 31334Z. One of the reasons is my microwave doesn’t bake potatoes properly. I wanted a toaster oven for baking a potato as well other things. However, your brochure that came with the oven does not have any food guides in it. I need something that tells me how long to bake a potato and at what temperature, etc. Don’t you have some kind of food reference to provide your faithful customers (such as myself) with that could be used as guide for something as simple as a baked potato.I would appreciate any help you could give me. I think I am going to like this toaster oven – I really like the design. Please mail to: Janice Chamberlain 646 Sycamore Turn Ln., Cols. OH 43213 or email: shanepup37@gmail.com. Thank you. 9/9/17
